City of Berkeley Pedestrain Master Plan Open House
December 7 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
The City of Berkeley is updating its 2010 Pedestrian Master Plan and is hosting an open house for you to see what we’ve been up to and to get your feedback. The Plan will guide how projects get developed so that walking in Berkeley will be safer and more comfortable for people of all races, income, ages, and abilities. We previously reached out to the community to develop the Plan’s vision and goals. Then we analyzed the places in Berkeley where pedestrian-involved collisions have occurred. Currently, we are working on recommendations for projects and programs for pedestrian improvements. At the open house, we will be showing:· Priority street segments – Improvements that we could make to high-injury streets· Citywide projects – Ways to reduce conflicts between pedestrians and vehicles, and to increase visibility and awareness of pedestrians citywideWe want your input! It will be incorporated when we write the Draft Plan in Spring 2020.Did we miss any important issues on the priority streets? Do you have more ideas on how to improve the pedestrian experience in Berkeley? We welcome you to drop by our open house to view all the maps and materials. Our staff will be on hand to answer all your questions and receive your comments.
